TO DANCE

I am not that old only if I AM old enough to see a difference in contemporariess of dance. this current generation is mind blaringly ingenious but scarily get offing the work ethics of my middling less talented generation as well as those that came before us.

As most of you will dance for my generation or the generations prior; here is what was expected of us that we by nature and collectively, expect from you. NEVER mark.
Why pay for a categorise and mark until you get into conclaves?
Groups occur for MAYBE 10 minutes. virtually of which youll spend trying to figure out the p nontextual matters youve been marking.
gaint sit.
Dont yawn.
Be on time. if anything, be early.
Touching your toes and sitting in a grande plie 2nd for a minute does not a sufficient warm up hold back.
Put your phones AWAY.
Be hungry to know everything nigh your art; ESPECIALLY its history. You would not be here without those that came before you.

You must be able to hold an intelligent conversation about the art form that you have chosen to make your lifes purpose.

If you miss rehearsal, get with someone prior to learn the choreography you dont know. If you dont make the YouTube video, dont get the job, or dont get called out for the special group; it doesnt mean you stop coming to enlighten.



In fact, the very diametricyou KEEP SHOWING UP.
perseverance and SHOWING UP is frequently how a job is booked.

If a dance doesnt win, it doesnt mean its bad.
If a choreographer isnt on SYTYCD, it doesnt mean they arent worth working with.
If a teacher cant book you something, it doesnt mean their class isnt worth taking.
Know loyalty. everlastingly remember where you came from and who got you there.
Be humble, even if that older dancer cant bias as many times as you; theres a intellectual why theyve booked so many jobs and are shut away working.
