This story is about how Luther and Nora Krank try to avoid the Christmas frenzy. On the sunlight after Thanksgiving, they bring their daughter Blair to the airport. She is going on a year- pine assignment to a remote argona of Peru with the Peace Corps. Since Blair is gone, Luther comes up with the idea that they should skip Christmas because it could save them lots of time and money. He ends up surprising Nora with a ten-day cruise to the Caribbean aboard the Island Princess. At first Nora dismisses the idea of skipping Christmas, but it doesnt take long for Nora to adjust to the idea of no Christmas shopping, no Christmas tree, and no Christmas evening party they host every year. Their dwells become outraged with their termination to boycott Christmas because it hurts their chances of winning best decorated block. The neighbors start to declare on the Kranks lawn. The Kranks anxiously await their Christmas Day departure. On Christmas Eve, the Kranks are all packed and ready for their next day departure.
