The red of the text draws our eyes to it, putting emphasis on its message. The audience is urged to join the Red Cross to fight or to support it, because the Red Cross is a symbol of hope for the British soldiers. The Red Cross is placed next to the Iron Cross, which is a symbol of Germany. The fact that the Red Cross is placed first gives it priority, and shows the audience that this is the side to be on.
