It helps to compensate for noncurrent discrimination, persecution or exploitation by culture or race. It took place in the United States and first appeared in Executive Order 10925, used to achieve non-discrimination, which was signed by chairperson John F. Kennedy on March 6, 1961. In 1965, President Lyndon B. Johnson issued Executive Order 11246 which federal contractors were required to take Affirmative Action to hire without racism, religion and national origin. In 1968, sexuality was added to the anti-discrimination list.
When the Affirmative Action first started, it was a descent policy, but with the changes in society, it became a policy that does more harm than good. So because of that, many argued that the policy should be out of every police force book in America to eliminate the negative affect that it has caused.
So is Affirmative Action a good or a bad idea? Some agree with it and almost strongly disagree with it, but in my own survey I would say that Affirmative Action has its pros and cons and Im a little splintering for it and a little bit against it.




Ways in which Affirmative Action is good is that,
* It gave state chances on what they might read otherwise have confounded out on.
* Many people could loll jobs that they couldnt have gotten before because of discrimination.
* People with disadvantages got a chance to excel entirely like everyone else.
* Protected racial minorities.
The disadvantages of Affirmative Action,
